From January 23, Kazakhstan will begin legalization of foreign cars imported into the country before September 1, 2022.
We will now tell you how to go through the procedure for legalizing foreign cars quickly and accurately in the instructions:
1.First of all you needapply for a background check through eGov.kz. Please note that car owners who do not have access to a personal computer can apply in the self-service sector at any public service center in the country. Work is underway to obtain the service in the applications of second-tier banks (Kaspi, HomeBank). Vehicle registration details must be filled out without errors.
2.The application will be considered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After you have submitted an application and you have been refused, you should not go to the Special Service Center; to explain the reasons, you need to contact the government agency.If approved, the system will offer you to book a visit to the Special Service Center for vehicle inspection. To do this, you need to click “Book Queue” on the status page, select the Special Service Center where you will go to inspect the car, and indicate the date and time. Visitors will not be served in queues without a reservation.
3. In a car that is subject to legalization, you must arrive at the inspection point at the Special Service Center 20 minutes before the appointed time. Upon entry, you can get a coupon at the inspection point itself or through the “Central Service Center” mobile application.
4. After successfully completing the verification, you can go to the Special Service Center building to register the car. The operator will ask you to hand over the original document confirming ownership of the car, a foreign technical passport.
5. After which it is necessary to pay a fee for initial registration in the amount of 200,000 tenge, a state fee for a technical passport - 4,313 tenge, for a license plate - 9,660 tenge. Payment can be made on site via QR.
6.After payment, on the same day you will be issued a technical passport and license plates of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Please note that the measures to legalize foreign cars are a one-time event. The approved rules for legalization will be valid until July 1, 2023 and apply to passenger cars, small and medium buses (with a gross weight of up to 5 tons) and small trucks (with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons), including those with right-hand drive. governing bodies. There will be no age and environmental class requirements for foreign cars subject to initial registration.
