“Government for Citizens” amended more than 89 thousand civil status acts in 2023. In the first ten days of January 2024 alone, 45 thousand people requested data update. Most often, Kazakhstanis make adjustments to confirm the composition of their family and enter information about their children.

Let us recall that on January 1, 2024, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the “National Fund for Children” program was launched. All Kazakh children, in accordance with the program, will annually receive part of the investment income of the National Fund. Parents, guardians, trustees check information about children in civil status acts on the eGov.kz portal.

Information is updated upon application from the interested party. If the registration record is available in the Civil Registry Office information system, the service provider makes changes within 2 business days. If there are no records in the information system that could form the basis for an adjustment, the period for providing the service is extended by no more than 5 working days.

Let’s add that you need to inform the state about the composition of your family in order to receive important messages and social services in a timely manner. Thanks to complete and correct databases, the state has a real demographic picture for the whole country and separately for each region. This makes it possible to plan the development of infrastructure - kindergartens, schools, hospitals - and develop various social programs.
