Removing collateral from property in Kazakhstan will take up to five minutes

The State Corporation "Government for Citizens" together with "Otbasy Bank" has implemented a project to remove collateral from property using Blockchain technology.

Often, when receiving a loan from a bank, Kazakhstanis take it as security for their property. After the loan is repaid, the lien must be released. Previously, this service was provided only offline in public service centers. The client first obtained certificates from the bank and then contacted the Public Service Centers. The service took three working days. Now, thanks to the project, the process has been simplified - you no longer need to collect documents and take them to the Public Service Center. Everything is done online and the lien is released in five minutes!

It should be noted that the service for terminating a mortgage on property is one of the most popular among Kazakhstanis. In five months, 126,523 STB liens were cleared. In the near future, clients of other banks will also be able to use the service. Let us add that this is not the first joint project of the State Corporation with second-tier banks and the use of Blockchain technology. In the fall of 2021, Digital Mortgage was launched, and at the beginning of June 2022, it became possible to arrange rental housing online.
