From June, Kazakhstanis will begin to receive increased pensions and benefits.

On May 12, 2022, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Republican Budget for 2022-2024” was issued, within the framework of which, from April 1, 2022, taking into account the revision of the inflation corridor for 2022, the amounts of joint pensions and social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) were indexed by an additional 4%, and the amounts of basic pensions and benefits were also increased by 4% due to changes in the cost of living (ML) and the monthly calculation index (MCI). According to the Law, from April 1 it is established:

  • Monthly calculation index (MCI) – in the amount of 3,180 tenge;
  • Minimum pension – 48,032 tenge
  • Living wage (LM) – 37,389 tenge;
  • The minimum amount of basic pension payment is 20,191 tenge.
Kazakhstanis will begin receiving increased pensions and benefits from June 2022. Also in June they will receive additional payments for April and May of the current year. The total number of payments subject to increase was 6.6 million. Pensions and benefits were indexed as part of the execution of the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
