The number of recipients of electronic digital signatures through PSCs increased sharply in January. Since the beginning of the year, through the Public Service Centers, Kazakhstanis have issued more than 270 thousand EDS, which is 30% more than in December.

The growth in the number of EDS recipients is due to the need to have it when withdrawing pension savings and for the annual submission of declarations by civil servants. Residents of the cities of Almaty, Nur-Sultan and the Turkestan region are leading among digital signature designers, if in the southern capital the number of designers exceeded 27 thousand, in the other two regions, 23 thousand signatures, respectively. The minimum number of people who issued an EDS through the PSC in the West Kazakhstan region, in total - 7 thousand.

According to the chairman of the state corporation Adil Kozhikhov, an EDS can be issued online, so during a pandemic there is no need to visit crowded places. “We care about the health of every citizen. Today, an EDS can be issued while at home in a few minutes, ”says Adil Kozhikhov.

The Government also reminds citizens of the need to timely update the EDS keys. Upon expiration of the electronic signature issued for a year, i.e. in 10 days, the owner of the EDS receives an SMS notification. Citizens can extend the validity period of the keys on the website of the National Certification Center pki.gov.kz for another year. This also eliminates the need to contact the PSC to obtain an EDS.

Note that the opportunity to issue an EDS online through the egov.kz portal has existed since April 2020. To do this, you must have a laptop or computer with a camera, identity card and registration in the mobile citizens database. The system will offer to save the new EDS after identification of the person and personal data of the citizen.
