You can now apply for a passport and ID card yourself

The innovative Documentation Terminal project was presented today to the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin, and the Minister of Internal Affairs Marat Akhmetzhanov.

According to the Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin, this project is unique in that clients will be able to order the service bypassing the queue, as well as independently choose a good photo for the document. “Previously, in order to submit an application, the client had to spend up to 30 minutes waiting in line, registering with a migration service officer, paying at the cash desk and taking photographs. Now, thanks to the documentation terminal, the process will take no more than 10 minutes, and you won’t have to wait in line,” the minister noted.

The service for obtaining a passport and identity card is one of the most popular in Kazakhstan. Thus, over the past year, more than 2.3 million citizens turned to public service centers for services. To optimize service for citizens and reduce reception time, the State Corporation has installed a terminal that allows you to independently submit an application for receiving documents. To date, four terminals have been installed in the public service center of the city of Astana at Kerey and Zhanibek Khandar streets, 4/1. In the future, it is planned to implement the project in all regions.

“We strive for complete paperless provision of public services in public service centers with a focus on self-service. It is important to us that when clients come to the service center, they can receive the service quickly and efficiently. In addition, when developing the terminal, all risks were taken into account and information security and protection of personal data were ensured,” said Chairman of the Board of the State Corporation Suyenish Abdildin.

Please note that in order to use the terminal, the client must independently fill in all the data, undergo biometric identification, take a photo, sign and pay for the service using a QR code through a second-tier bank. By the way, the state fee for issuing a passport in 2023 is 27,600 tenge, for an identity card - 690 tenge.

After submitting an application through the terminal, the service recipient must contact a migration service employee. He will check the correctness of the application, photograph and signature for compliance with the requirements.
