You can use a QR code to pay for your passport and ID card

Clients who apply for a passport and identity card at public service centers can pay the state fee using a QR code. The government, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has implemented the opportunity for citizens to accept payments directly from the migration service operator.

Today, in pilot mode, residents of the city can take advantage of this opportunity. Nur-Sultan and Almaty. When applying for a service to a migration service operator who accepts applications for a passport and identity card, a client can immediately pay the fee through the QR payment system of the Homebank or Kaspi banking applications without going to the cash desk.
“Pay in a matter of seconds - digital realities that are already available to every second Kazakhstani. QR payments in megacities are already used everywhere in all objects of trade, culture, and entertainment. In the area of public services, we are also trying to introduce new digital capabilities. Previously, a QR code could be used to pay for services for the production and issuance of deeds for land plots, registration of rights to real estate, condominium objects and other government services in the field of land relations. Now it is possible to pay without queuing at the cash register and for documentation services,” said Adil Kozhikhov, Chairman of the Board of the Government for Citizens state corporation.
Over seven months, 1,577 thousand government services were provided to Kazakhstanis for issuing passports and identity cards. The state fee for an identity card is 584 tenge, for a passport – 23,336 tenge.

The government introduced the possibility of payment via QR for citizens in November 2020. Today, clients can pay for 146 types of government services. In total, the state corporation provides 662 types of public services from the state register.
